you can copy past setting.xml from maven-home/conf and update inside .m2 folder

@Raja9 steps below will allow you to create a new settings.xml in the .m2 folder from the terminal on your MAC.

Follow the steps below:

1. open a terminal window, and type in: touch ~/.m2/settings.xml
