We have completed the in place upgrade of AEM 5.6.1 to AEM 6.1

After that we found that group everyone is listed under the group "administrators".

We tried removing the usergroup "everyone" from administrators. on the screen when we save the administrator group after removal of "everyone " it shows that the group is removed. But once we refresh the screen we are able to see that the group -- everyone is still listed there under Administrators group,

So how to remove the group : everyone from administrators?

Hi,

the "everyone" group is a special group required by the system[0]. I just looked at my 6.1 system and checked the permissions for the "administrators" group, as you can see from the screenshots, the administrators group is a member of the everyone group, not the other way around. If you check the everyone group, you will see it is not a member of any group. Is this not the same for your system?

Good Question,

Its the default behavior of AEM adding a everyone group for all groups. I don't think its going to cause any harm(as it has only read permissions).

you can find more information on the documentation at "ACCESS CONTROL LISTS AND HOW THEY ARE EVALUATEDhttps://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/administer/security/security.html

I have quickly tested creating a group and saw that "everyone" group is getting added to the newly created groups also.

Thanks,

KK
