Hi,

I need to migrate content from SharePoint to AEM.

1. Is Share Point Connector the answer or any other way available?

2. Is it licensed?

3. Also, is this Connector supported for AEM 6.1/6.2? I saw another forum post for this query, which was not answered.

4. I am looking for the various steps in this migration for estimation purpose.

Highly appreciate all your replies.

Thanks,

Rama.

Hi Rama

You might want to check out the recording in the Resources of the SharePoint Connector - Setup and Configuration Presented by: Tarun Aggarwal - Lead Software Engineer [1]

[1] https://seminars.adobeconnect.com/p56h6wavw5a/?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode=normal

Documentation:- https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/crx/connectors/sharepoint/current.html

The SharePoint connector supports the following base functionalities:

  1. Reading content and metadata from SharePoint
  2. Writing files and folders to the SharePoint document libraries
  3. Executing queries on the SharePoint system
  4. Respecting SharePoint security settings for accessed content via leveraging native SharePoint authentication and authorization
  5. Content Integration using Content Finder
  6. Utilizing AEM components like External Resource to display SharePoint Announcements etc.
  7. DAM Asset Synchronization

I hope this would be of some help to you.

Hi all,

I have already taken a look at this video and documentation link URL.

The video is for 5.6.1.

I also looked at the AEM Forum post on whether this Connector is supported for AEM 6.1/6.2, which was not answered.

So, someone kindly answer my queries.

This estimation is due today (I got it only today) and so I appreciate a quick reply.

Thanks,

Rama.

Recently a new version of Sharepoint connector has been released that supports 6.1. It supports following functionalities.

  1. You can sync assets from sharepoint to AEM, not the other way around.
  2. Assets will get synchronized from Sharepoint to AEM.
  3. Various types of assets are supported like images , videos , PDF , PPT.
  4. It does not support Live Mount any longer
  5. Announcement drag & drop in content finder is also not supported.

Hi,

Thanks for this update.

I am also looking for content migration from Sharepoint to AEM only, but rather than synchronizing from time to time, it is just a one time activity.

Could you please share the documentation link?

Also, will the old 5.6.1 video hold good for 6.1 also, or the procedure has changed now?

Thanks,

Rama.
