Does AEM Bulk Import Support Dedicated Egress IP?

Avatar

Level 5

Hi,

Requirement

We are integrating AEM as a Cloud Service – Bulk Import with Azure Blob Storage. Our requirement is for the Bulk Import process to access Azure Blob Storage using a dedicated/static outbound IP, instead of a shared IP pool.

Context

Based on our understanding, the Bulk Import service functions as a migration service and is not bound to a specific AEM Author or Publish runtime. As a result, outbound traffic initiated by Bulk Import does not appear to use the environment’s Dedicated Egress IP, and may originate from Adobe-managed cloud IP ranges.

Question

Is there any supported way to

  • Configure Bulk Import to use the Dedicated Egress IP, or
  • Associate a static / allow-listable IP address with Bulk Import when connecting to Azure Blob Storage?

Any official guidance or documentation clarifying this behavior would be helpful.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi @Ravi_Joshi ,

The Bulk Import Service is used to transfer files stored in Azure Blob Storage or Amazon S3 storage into AEM as a Cloud Service as assets.

No - AEM Bulk Import does not currently support using an environment’s Dedicated Egress IP, nor can you assign a static outbound IP to the Bulk Import service itself.
Outbound traffic from Bulk Import originates from Adobe-managed cloud infrastructure, not from your Author/Publish runtimes.

This is expected and by design.
