AEM Assets publish possibilities

Hi All,

I am currently working on a new instance of AEM assets. My thoughts at this point is to have 2 mirror folder structures. One that holds all the working assets and the other folder structure will hold all the approved assets. They will both be on author.

There will be 3 groups that will be responsible for assets, group1 (creative), group2 (approvers), group3 use the approved assets.

1. creative group who will upload assets into working folder and do all collaboration. Once asset are ready they will run a customised workflow and sent to group 2 for review.

2. Group 2 will review the assets and will either approve (thereby the assets are copied to the approved folder), or rejected whereby the assets are sent back to group1 for review.

3. As mentioned this group only has accessed to the finalised and approved assets for websites, prints, etc

Wanted to ask is this approach is sensible ? One other thing I want to ask, when I copy an asset from one folder to another does that mean I have double the binary?

Thanks for your thoughts.
