AEM 6.1 Technical Requirements

Avatar

Level 7

Hi all,

I am looking in to the AEM 6.1 Technical Requirements @ https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-1/deploy/technical-requirements.html

PlatformDescriptionSupport Level
File System (1)Repository Microkernel (TAR files)A: Supported
File System (1)To store binariesA: Supported
MongoDB Enterprise 2.6 (2)Repository MicrokernelA: Supported
MongoDB Enterprise 3.0 (2)(3)Repository MicrokernelA: Supported
IBM DB2 10.5 Repository MicrokernelR: Restricted Support
Oracle Database 12cRepository MicrokernelR: Restricted Support
MySQL 5.5Repository MicrokernelE: Expected to work
Amazon S3To store binariesA: Supported
Apache SolrTo use as internal search engineA: Supported

1. Does it mean that MongoDB , DB2,Oracle,and MySQL could be used for Repository Microkernel?

2. DB2, and Oracle will attract Restricted (limited) support?

3. MySQL is Expected to work and not supported by Adobe?

4. Microsoft SQL Server does not even figure in the above table. How about this?

I am aware that I could have concluded from this table, but just wanted to make learned decisions.

Appreciate your responses.

Thanks,

Rama.
