Session Q&A

Question Answer
Are the assets in the cloud or is there a local storage option? Assets are in the Cloud for Assets CS.
what is the solution for uploading large assets greater than 8GB into assets ? In Assets Cloud Service we support uploading up to 100GB files; file processing like metadata extraction or video encoding is limited to 15GB
How is this different than Workfront DAM? Assets Essentials has a native, OOTB integration with Workfront.
How is Assets Essentials different from Assets? Assets Essentials is a lightweight edition of the Assets CloudService with powerful search capabilities, a modern, intuitive UI with native integrationsinto WF and AJO.
Any limit on the number of metadata fields you can capture via the "push"? No theoretical limit on number of metadata fields that you can sync from WF to AEM Assets Essentials, however there are currently 60-70 OOTB mappable metadata fields with many more coming.
Is AEM a piece that comes with WF or is it standalone? WorkFront is licensed separately.
Is it possible to add Translation workflow with third party tools to create Global versions of the page? AEM integrates with third-party translation services. The assets and pages are passed to the third-party provider then the new binaries/payload are returned to AEM after the job is completed. Here is a link for more information https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-cloud-service/content/assets/admin/transl...
Can Assets Essentials also be used to ingest and tag final assets to the DAM? Assets Essentials is the actual digital asset management tool.
Can you modify your metadata schema? Yes, your metadata schema in AEM Assets Essentials is configurable through the use of a metadata form.
Is AEM a piece that comes with WF or is it standalone? Assets Essentials is an add-on to Workfront and the integration is available out of the box with no implementation needed. We also released enhanced integration capabilities between AEM Assets and Workfront.
Is there a native integration with INDD, and XD as well? or just photoshop? Yes, Adobe Asset Link supports photoshop, illustrator, InDesign. Here is a link for more information: https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/adobe-asset-link.html
Is AEM a piece that comes with WF or is it standalone? my understanding is Assets Essentials can be bundled with a new Workfront license. It's replacing Workfront DAM and it's an entry to a full-featured AEM Assets license
How is Assets Essentials different from Assets? You can purchase Assets Essentials as an add-on to Workfront or via Journey Optimizer.
Can the user download the entire folder of assets at once or just one asset at a time? In AEM, a user can download an entire folder, multiple assets, or a single asset.
Can Assets Essentials also be used to ingest and tag final assets to the DAM? Yes
are we assuming rights are already tracked before being used? Yes
Does Assets Essentials integrate with Premiere Pro? Can metadata be pushed in both directions, from Premiere to Assets Essentials and vice versa? Essentials integrates with Creative Cloud Libraries, which is fully supported in Premiere Pro (and After Effects)
Can the user download the entire folder of assets at once or just one asset at a time? Kevin, You could also use Desktop app
Is the Creative Cloud integration with Assets OOB or is an additional license necessary? Hi ! This requires Creative Cloud Enterprise license
Is it possible to create polyhierarchical metadata tags? The tagging taxonomy uses the parent-child structure that allows for multiple containers and leaf values. One child is not allowed to have multiple-parents but there are other controlled vocabulary property times that allow conditional and/or cascading data.
what is the solution for uploading large assets greater than 8GB into assets ? You can modify the config to upload larger size, (default is 2GB OOB) but be careful because it's all dependent on how much memory is allocated to JVM and then actual server to both upload and then process the image.
If we do not have creative cloud integration with Assets, how is an asset revision accomplished? You are able to upload new versions to Assets. A version will automatically be created if you use the same file name. It will maintain the previous versions if needed -- No Creative Cloud license required!
Are multi-page assets viewable in Essentials without requiring users to download the asset? Yes, some are supported with the embedded PDF viewer and support for more are part of the roadmap
Is the Creative Cloud integration with Assets OOB or is an additional license necessary? Yes- you can integrate to Workfront if you already have the license. See doc here: https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-manager-cloud-service/content/assets/integrations...
any word on when assets essentials pricing will be available? Assets Essentials is currently available as an add-on to Workfront or Adobe Journey Optimizer. More news coming this year 😉
