Been having an issue with slow loading assets when selecting reveal. Running the AEM on two identical iMacs. 1 Mac loads quickly with really no issue, while the other has issues with certain image/asset folders. Completely slowing down indesign. All the same prefs on both machines.

Have you tried clearning the apps cache [1]? 

Mac: ~/Library/Group/Containers/group.com.adobe.aem.desktop/cache/

Also review Best Practices to make sure those are being followed.  Otherwise, review the logs to see if there's anything helpful there.
