Context : we have a situation wherein the current adobe LiveCycle application is hosted on WAS app server along with Oracle database. Client has many challenges with this application, so wanted a feasible solution.
What we have suggested? - Migrate to AEM forms on JEE
My Questions:
1) Is this suggested approach a recommended one?
2) If not, is there a better solution?
3) What are the pros and cons in using AEM forms on JEE and AEM form on OSGI?
4) Migration approach to take? is the migration suggested by Adobe a recommended one? whether content and data be moved to CRX or remain as such with the old application landscape?
Challenges faced by Client:
a) The support for Flash is stopped therefore to maintain the application using a deprecated technology will cause security and support concerns.
b) Adobe Reader PDF plugin is not supported by modern browser thus the user cannot access Application.
c) Most of the LiveCycle Process management component has been removed in the new version and mitigated by converting as depreciated service
d) Since the application was hosted on AIX and WAS server, the deployment process is complex compared to a Windows based application
