AAM Platform Architecture: Data Flow Map

Hi all,

I came across AAM Platform Architecture: Data Flow Map at Platform Architecture: Data Flow Map

How to read this map was discussed here, but the actual diagram itself was not.

There is so much data flowing across different components.

I want to know what data is flowing from where to where, why and how and also what the individual components are.

Could you please point me to its documentation?

I see Akamai, which is a CDN, and I am not sure why it is inside AAM.
