Tracking Launch Events on every Launch

Hi,

My lifecycletimeout is configured to 5 minutes. 

Shouldnt a launch event be recorded every time the app is launched.(killed and launched)? I am is sdk version 4.17.7 for android. 

I think the launch event is being recorded only when i launch the app after the timeout value has elapsed. 

Can anyone help me with understanding the exact trigger for launch event, and point out the related documentation, if any.
