Average Time On Site: Time Difference for Custom Page URLs Evar & Month Dimensions

Avatar

Hi,

I'm seeing difference between in the "Avg time on site" metrics data with MONTH wise dimension vs custom EVAR to capture page URLs for the website.

Example:-

                         Avg. Time On Site

Month            |  3.30  Minutes

December      |  3.30  Minutes

------------------------------------------

                                             Avg. Time On Site

Custom Evar Page URLs |  1.30 Minutes

Page 1                                |  1.10  Minutes

Page 2                                |  0.20 Minutes

Why the "Average Time On Site" giving difference in time range?

Thanks

Average Time on Site is like other dimensions, and therefore depending on the breakdown will reflect differences based on those breakdowns.

For instance, when you look at this against the month, this takes the average time spent in an end-to-end visit for every page.

But, when you do a breakdown by page, it will show you the average time spent on the site (within the visit) on those pages.
