Any browser cookies limitation to store analytics values?

Hi,

Is there any limit to store analytics values in the browser cookies? in other words, how many analytics values we can store in the cookies. I have been hearing from the development team saying there is a limit to store the values in the cookies(20 cookies per domain). for eg: if my site url is www.example.com then i can store 20 different cookies values under this domain(example.com).

My question is, what will happen if we exceed more than 20 domain? Anyone experienced this before?

The rules governing cookies stored for Analytics values are identical to cookies stored in general.
