Workspace Smart Date Selection Entry

It seems like Workspace is very picky about the format that it accepts dates. You have to enter YYYY-MM-DD, including dashes, for it it work. It'd be great if it was smart enough to accept all of the varying ways that human beings format dates, akin to Google Calendar. I could quickly type "jan 1" or "1/1/17" or "17/1/1", then tab over to the next period, then hit enter.
