Does Anyone Have Experience Moving Their Web Analytics Data In House?

We're looking to start moving our Web Analytics data in house to a server in order to keep historic data beyond the 37 month timeout. Does anyone have experience doing this, and know where to start? It seems like it should be fairly straight forward / easy, but a checklist would be nice.
