Creating a month & year segment

Hello, I am trying to create a segment where I am trying to exclude metrics from a certain month and year. For example, I am trying to exclude both Aug and Sept of 2018 numbers but when I create the segment, Omniture excludes all of 2018 numbers. I created a "year published=2018" and a container where  "month published does not = 8 and 9".

You'll want to use exclude containers instead. Try this:

Include hits where year published = 2018

and

Exclude container where month published = 8 or 9

To change a container to exclude, click the gear icon in the upper right.
