Can you view requests/issues in the workload balancer alongside project tasks?

Our team does not convert all requests into tasks/projects. Some are small enough to work on their own without any major structure or overhead being built up around them. The problem we are having is that these requests do not seem to appear on the workload balancer, even though they have planned hours associated with them.

Is there setup/configuration that I am missing, or is this functionality that Workfront does not support at this time?

In your workload balancer page, you should see a cog icon in the upper right corner area -- when you click on this, there's a "include hours from issues" toggle.

Is your toggle on or off?

Hi Skye,

but are the hours being pulled by automation? where from requests can you assign the hours for it to show in the workload balancer?

You probably know that your two questions are unrelated (I'm providing context for the wider audience to keep my answer valuable)

1) If the hours exist on task and issue objects, they will be displayed in Workload Balancer if your Workload Balancer settings (cog icon) allow for it. Nothing gets "pulled" into Workload Balancer by any additional "automation" other than what is built into the settings.

2) The only way we have to automate hours at a REQUEST level, is in a queue topic, as DURATION. I admit that doing this will screw the duration, so it's your choice. For us, if a task takes 2 hours, we code it as a duration of 0.25d. This will make it submit as due in 2 hours, but also automatically set up 2 hours in your planned hours field. It's much easier for us to tell users to reset the planned completion date than to go looking for planned hours, so this is a fair compromise for us. (you can also just edit the request and put it in the planned hours field)

We also have votes in on feature requests that ask for more flexibility with requests. You can find them in the ideas exchange in link such as:
