Is it possible to remove line breaks from within a Text field using a Flow step?We are using a Text field in a webhook call, and getting a BadRequest error when the field has line breaks and does not adhere to JSON string format.

Hi All, we're facing a very weird and inconsistent behaviour with Marketo hidden fields in regards of capturing the data. Issue started few months back, when we implemented capturing the UTM values as cookies on our website. We created hidden fields in Marketo to track those cookie values and store in Marketo. It was working with a hit or miss. Then we reached out to Marketo and they said, your UTM cookies set after the user cookie consent and till the time marketo form is already loaded and that's why it's not capturing the cookie values in these kind of cases. To overcome this issue, now I check if user has accepted the cookie consent or not, as  soon as consent is accepted, I am firing a event on site, which then loads the marketo form using Form API addHiddenFields method and already populating the hidden fields values by code itself like this:form.addHiddenFields(utmValues)If user doesn't accept the cookie consent, I am loading the marketo form without tha

A customer of ours recently bought another company, and needs to migrate data from that company's Marketo org to another one. They're hopeful that they'll be able to migrate activity data and pointed me to this blog post from the Marketo Consulting team: https://nation.marketo.com/t5/employee-blogs/marketo-to-marketo-migrations-scripting/ba-p/330616I'm not able to find a REST API endpoint that would create standard activities (like Fill Out Form, Send Email, etc.). I can think of many reasons why it would be a mistake for Marketo to even try to make such an endpoint available.I suspect that consulting offering inserts custom activity types, which would not qualify for standard smart list filters like "Filled Out Form", "Clicked Link in Email", etc. So useful data to bring in but not as easy to leverage in their operations as they might hope. Is someone from Marketo able to verify this?

Hi, When I am saving this email template and want to make the FROM and FROM ADDRESSS to default test@test.com and after that I save that template and approve it. And create a new email in Marketing activities and hence it shows me the user details in  FROM and FROM ADRESSS instead of the default details that i saved as template. Can't we change this and make the default for every template instead of fetching user information in the FROM and FROM-address fields in email template? Thanks

Hello, I am working to use the Power Query function to bring Marketo lead data into Excel. I have the following code written and have attached a screenshot of the error I am getting. Hey all, quick question for those of you who use SimpleDTO as a pre-fill option.Does SimpleDTO support the pre-fill of checkbox or checkboxes fields? I am using the latest version (SimpleDTO 2.0), and I have successfully made the connection. I can see the first name, last name and email field pre-filling on the forms no problem. However, if used on a Form such as one that stores users communication preferences, I see the checkboxes present on the form are not checked off despite being checked on the lead within the database. Is this something that is possible to pre-fill those checkboxes with SimpleDTO? Hi All - I am trying to establish global content download forms hosted on our website however, each download is a different piece of content.  So I thought the next best thing was to build a global TY page however, I am not quite sure how to set it up where each submission goes to the right content.  How is this best achieved?  Please help.  The one workaround I can see is cloning the global form for each asset and the direct after submission goes to the PDF.  Is this the only option?  I would love to know how to build one global form but set up the follow up page based on the asset type.   Any recommendations are welcomed. 

How can you tell whether a lead was net new at the time of form submission — that is, in the web browser, not in Marketo itself?   Easy to tell in Marketo: if Person is Created has a non-empty Form Name constraint, they were created by the form. There’s no built-in feature on the browser side, though.   (In case it didn’t immediately hit ya, knowing in the browser allows smarter web routing: net new folks can be taken to a different follow-up page, see personalized first-time content, etc.)   Net New Detection (call it NND) is possible with advanced custom JS, which I’ll provide in an upcoming post. In preparation, you need to create a new field and maintain that field with a tiny bit of JS + ongoing Smart Campaign + one-time backfill.   You may not know exactly why this field is necessary, but you will soon. When someone submits a Marketo form, there’s no built-in way to determine if they’re net new right then, in the browser. This means you lose your chance at directing some leads to a “welcome, new person” site journey and others to a “welcome back” path.   While it’s always been possible to add Net New Detection (NND), the technical recipe hasn’t been written down previously, left in a haze of “I’ll explain it someday” by yours truly.   It has overlaps with my SimpleDTO library used by a lot of folks for cross-domain pre-fill, but doesn’t depend on the SimpleDTO JS and is much simpler overall.   Note that while SimpleDTO works across domains (i.e. with embedded forms), net new detection requires a Marketo LP. Mxtoolbox is able to identify SPF records for two of our subdomains however google is stating the SPF success rate is 0% for these two subdomains. Is there something we need to do on marketo's end for google to find the SPF record for these two subdomains?    

We’ve all seen (and hopefully obeyed) this warning in Admin » Tags » Channels:   But do you know why you can’t change the box that says “Opened” to “Clicked” — and vice versa — to swap their steps in the progression?   Because those textboxes modify the dynamic, friendly Program Status Name that’s currently associated with a fixed Program Status ID.   The Status ID is like a database primary key.🞷 Some are pre-created by the system (for builtin channels/statuses). We have Bot Activity filter enabled under Email section in Admin. I can see a good number of activities recorded there both for IAB list and Proximity Pattern. They both are in a few thousands. However, when I try to create a smart list with 'Clicked link in email', I cannot see the filter 'Is Bot activity = True/False' filter. I also don't see them on email performance reports in Analytics. Thank you.

Hi All, I am planning to create a new field in Marketo that I want to use as a magic link token (which is used in unsubscribe URLs).My idea is to have this field prepopulate based on another field. New field = Token + Parameters (the parameters will only get populated when the token exists). I want the new field to only populate when the token field is not blank. That way I can use one unsubscribe URL for tokenized users and untokenized users. For example: Untokenized URL/New field: If the new field is not populated, users will use the generic unsubscribe URL. If the new field is populated, it will be changed to the tokenized URL. I initially thought of using a formula field, but it seems like Smart Campaign doesn't support it. I want to check if there is a way that I can replicate the same using string fields to replace formula fields. 

I downloaded an OFT file from Outlook. While it appears well in Outlook, there are rendering issues in Gmail. Should I rely on fixing the Marketo template, or could it be a different problem? #oft #template

In Hubspot we were able to get a shareable email preview to send out to people who wanted to see what the email looked like. Marketo provides an email preview option, but you have to login in order to see the preview. Is there anyway to get a shareable email preview that I can send out the link for without requiring them to login to Marketo to see the preview? If not, what services do you use to share email previews to project stakeholders?

Recently, I inquired about incorporating numerous (a huge list) of SFDC campaigns into a smart list and got an insightful answer. Now, I am seeking guidance on creating a smart list for members from numerous Marketo programs. Is there a quicker method to achieve this? All the programs share a common keyword (let's call it "ABC"). Can I generate a smart list to retrieve members from all programs containing the keyword ABC? Appreciate your assistance.
