Adobe Marketo Engage

Hi All,  I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to all things Marketo. I'm currently trying to add some hidden forms to our brochure download form on our website so I can track where the customer came from prior to them filling in the form. E.g. did they originally come from Google Ads, Facebook or affiliate sites. I've added the hidden fields to the form. Previously I had the parameter name as Source and subsource but while trying to fix it myself I changed them to match the UTM tracking wording in the URL. I'm not sure if that is correct at all. When I've tested this with either of the parameter names it doesn't so any additional columns in the lists created from the form. I'm assuming that the additional fields I've added would automatically generate a new column on the list? And this is where I would check if the hidden fields are filling in properly. Hi there! I've recently been added to a committee at my company to represent the Marketo Engage platform and streamline our email communication across all the platforms we use. One of which is ChurnZero. In Marketo, we do have some of our client info that syncs from SFDC if they are also in Marketo, so we do have a segment of clients that we can market to. It sounds like ChurnZero is used for Sales Reps to do their own marketing. Curious if anyone in the community also uses both platforms - is there anyone who has moved all email communication to Marketo and Salesloft (cutting out ChurnZero completely). Seems like a lot of platforms to keep up with but I'm not as familiar with ChurnZero so maybe there is a perfect use case for it! Thanks!

Hi all, the support page tells me that it was moved to the Admin Console. But the Marketo instance that I need to file a case for has not been moved there yet. What am I supposed to do? Thanks,Michael

Hi! I am trying to understand if there is a way to have Marketo look up if an account exists in SFDC based on information provided in a form. This would be in an instance where the person filling out the form doesn't exist in either system yet, but the account exists in SFDC. Example:Ryan Smith works for Smith Industries. He fills out a Marketo form on our website looking for more information. Ryan doesn't exist in our system yet as a lead or contact but Smith Industries is an existing Account in SFDC with other contacts. Marketo would look up the Company field and see that Smith Industries exists in SFDC. The form fill would trigger a notification to the account owner rather than creating a new lead and following typical lead assignment rules.

Hello, can someone explain what the below actually means here? Any examples? I'm not sure how it needs to be interpreted please:When using a Boolean field in a trigger campaign Smart List, you must explicitly set it to ‘false’ in order for the field to evaluate properly during execution of the campaign. Thanks 

Marketo trigger tokens are a powerful way to extract information about the event that caused a smart campaign to run. Prior to Marketo, we used (and continue to use) another marketing automation platform (until we're fully deployed on Marketo).  We are in the process of migrating everything over to Marketo.  There are still some active landing pages that will require us to redirect the URL to the ones we will create in Marketo.  It's using a different sub-domain/CNAME than what we have setup in Marketo. My thought was to have our IT team modify the DNS/CNAME for the other sub-domain so that it points to our Marketo environment (similar to how we have setup our sub-domain for our current landing pages  and use the redirect tool in the admin area to redirect any active URL to a Marketo landing page.  But when I modify the value in the field below to “forms.avanade.com”, it switches back to “pages.avanade.com” (this is our CNAME in Marketo) when I leave the field:How do we go about using this tool to support other sub-domains?

Trying to figure out if there is a way to use hidden links in an email to see if bots click the hidden link to filter out bot activity vs real engagement. There is an ask to use email engagement of clicking on certain links to transition that person to a specific nurture based on their interaction with email links, however this would be an issue if bots are clicking email links and it wasn't a true interaction. Any suggestions?

Hi all,    I'm trying to build a smart campaign to alert our Customer Success team when the person score experiences a change of either 20 or more OR -20 or less in a period of a week. Is the setup below correct or does the 'Change' constraint only considers score changes of 20 exactly? If the latter, how would I accomplish my goal with this campaign? Thanks!! 🙂   

Hi Marketo Community,We are trying to figure out a way of reporting on positive changes in lead score - essentially a list of leads whose score has increased over a given time period, for example the last month. We're not interested in specific Previous or New values, but just any leads that have increased by say, at least 20 points in the last month.I'm aware there's the possibility of using the  "Score was Changed" or "Data Value was Changed" - but these only allow you to specify a change value of "is" or "is not" rather than "at least" or "more than" etc (and I've voted up on every suggestion of implementing this functionality that I've found in the community!). So I guess my question is, are there any workarounds that people have found for this that we've overlooked?Thanks,Cassie

Hello,I'm in the process of finalizing the integration of our Microsoft Dynamics CRM & Marketo and I have run into a bit of a hang-up. With our current system, when we send emails to our students, they are displayed as activities in Dynamics. We have trained our 1,200 reps to look for those activities and to rely on them as a way of knowing what communications their students have received. Now that we are transitioning those emails into Marketo, we don't, from what I can see, have any way of allowing those reps to see what emails their students are receiving in CRM. We are hoping to make the transition with minimal to no further IT involvement (they own Dynamics) and we also do not plan on rolling out sales insights for a few months (The logistics of training 1,200 people on new software will be difficult).  Is there any way to natively or simply write activities or even interesting moments back from Marketo into Dynamics? Hi all, I'm trying to build a smart campaign to alert our sales team when the person's score experiences a change of 50 or more in a time period of 6 months. I have made many smart campaigns and tests and none works for me 1. This one only affects people whose score is exactly +49 so if a person's score is +50, +51 etc, it won't work... 2. The problem with this is that works for new leads in the first 6 months, but if a person has a score of 100 and increases to 103, It will be affected because New value is greater than 49The action happened in past 6 monthsIt is the same for trigger campaigns so I don't know what to do, I would appreciate it if someone has a good idea or had handled this problem before!

If you are new to Marketo the prospect of building a lead scoring mechanism can be intimidating. There is alignment needed across the sales and marketing teams to define the model, which is never easy to get, involving a lot of meetings and communication, and then there is the implementation of the scoring mechanism in Marketo which can be equally challenging.   While getting alignment between the sales and marketing teams is not something I can help you with this post will give you some examples of lead scoring models for demographics and firmographics as well as lead scoring models for activity. Curious to see if anyone else has run into this since the switch away from Marketo logins to Adobe ID.  Often, I'll login with my Adobe ID, successfully, but instead of going to Marketo it will return to the login screen. Then, after logging in a second time, it will go through. Doesn't happen every time, but more often than not. I'm using the Adobe Account Access app with the push notifications, but my other users are having the same issue with passwords.  This is at most mildly irritating rather than a critical failure, but I'm curious to see if anyone has experienced this and has found a fix or a workaround. 

Hey y'all,  My team is running into an issue with our SFDC and Marketo Sync / Database. We were recently over compliance and deleted a lumpsum of records, however the next morning we discovered that they have all re-uploaded. We want to be able to sync records that interact with our marketing content but delete records that we have been wanting to delete and not have them re-sync through our systems. Has anyone ran into something like this? Seems like a vicious cycle we are trying to get out of. 

We have been getting web services error notifications for some time now with the user being our BigMarker (webinar platform) integration user. The error is a 1003 error code and varies in the count of errors each time. We have asked both BigMarker and Marketo if they can provide further details on the errors so we could figure out what needs to be resolved, but neither has been able to provide further information.  Wondering if anyone else has seen this same issue in the past and has been able to resolve it somehow? 

Hi there,I have a Custom Object called 'Platform User' which sits off the Contact Object. This Custom Object contains a field which can either be switched on, Yes, or off, No. I see some examples where this data change seems to sync into Marketo, but some times when it doesn't.Does the change to the Custom Object field have to trigger a change to the Modified Date on the Contact Object, or does that not make any difference? I would welcome some documentation on how these Custom Objects actually work. I can see an entry in the Person Activity Log when a connection is made between the Contact record and the Platform User record, and looking at the detail of the Activity Log entry is where Marketo tell me to see the Custom Object fields data. However, they also say that after the initial sync, any changes made to these fields will NOT be visible to me in Marketo, but WILL be stored somewhere, such that Smart Lists will pull the latest data field values correctly...however, until I know ca

Having an issue with CTA button alignment in the Outlook client for Windows. The alignment always gets pushed left no matter what we input in the template before sending it out. Any idea what would be causing this? Below is the code for one of our CTA buttons. We are considering Litmus as a replacement for our current Inbox Preview tool Email On Acid because they have some additional features like Email Guardian, Proofing, Personalization Tools, and additional Analytics. We have been told by our Litmus Sales Rep that the additional analytics feed back to the lead record in Marketo:Email ClientDark ModeRead, Skim, GlanceSuspected Apple MPP opensI found the developer doc for adding the Litmus code to an email, but I can't find any documentation on reporting and where the data can be found in Marketo. Does anybody use the Litmus integration with Marketo? Know that the data does map back to the lead record somewhere in Marketo? I'd appreciate any help I can get.
