Adobe Marketo Engage

We are currently capturing leads via an external form and are using Marketo's API to send that information to Marketo. What is the best way to go about adding that lead to a program? The leads coming through will have a unique lead source. 

Recently our stakeholder told us that now they want to use gravity forms in our wordpress pages and we have to do integration between gravity forms and marketo through zapier. I am afraid that they will work similar to marketo forms? Does anyone have any pro and cos of using these forms?1. Does this sync works on the basis of filled out form trigger?2. Is it gonna check the duplicate leads before pushing it to marketo?3. Will we be able to build the report on the basis of form fill out?Any help with this will be really appreciated.Thanks,Sant

Hello,   I needed to swap an Email1A in an active nurture to an Email1B. What i did was create inside the nurture program a default program, image below with the smartlist: I´m just not sure where should a put this default program in the stream - should i add it below Email 1? And also, should i deactivate the Email1?   Thank you

Is there any way I could also retrieve the former value in that field? And does anybody know if there are more tokens that work for CDV trigger in addition to trigger.name and trigger.trigger name?Oh, and can I use trigger tokens in Velocity?   Thanks!Michael

For one of our reoccuring email program sends, we have been seeing a huge spike in metrics, due to bot activity. We implemented a recaptcha form per Marketo's suggestion and we've seen our numbers stabilize for our website opens, clicks, and form fills. However, we are seeing that metrics for clicks to external websites that we link in our emails are still super inflated. Since the recaptcha only applies to our company site/form fills, how can I prevent seeing this bot activity on external links we're promoting? If there's not a solution to prevent external bot activity, what is the best way to exclude it from reports?

So, I am working on a project for a client and it involves knowing, in a webhook, which Partition someone is in.  Ideally I wanted to do this by Partition ID and not by Partition Name.   It transpires you can do this quite easily as there is an undocumented lead token that gives you this information.   The documented token is this one:  {{lead.Lead Partition}}.  This will give you the Partition Name. The undocumented token is this one: {{lead.Lead Partition id}}.  This gives you the Partition ID.   So, an email with this in the body: Yields this when previewed by person:   I hope you have as much fun with this as I am having.   Remember: Undocumented features may vanish without warning.  This is documented, so you have been warned 🙂  

We have a pain point of not being able to choose any email when using email programs, which can only send local emails. https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/marketo/using/product-docs/email-marketing/email-programs/email-program-actions/choose-an-existing-email.html?lang=en     Default programs can send any email in Marketo which is what we want to do for email programs. I can see at least one thread about this from 2015 https://nation.marketo.com/t5/product-discussions/email-program-choose-non-local-emails/m-p/35792#M8065 but no follow up that I can see.    Any news?

Can anyone helpout with below?We have two forms available for content downloads, and there is a scoring campaign in place for content. In this campaign, we used the trigger "Form Name Contains = content" to score on the form the submissions. However, we have realized that for those two content forms, we forgot to include "content" in the Form Name.   As a result, it has come to our attention, after four months, that the records filled out using these two content forms did not get score upon content form submission.   Now, we intend to rectify this by awarding a score of +25 to these records. Additionally, we want to verify if a person has achieved a score of at least 40. If this condition is met, we will mark them as "Is MQL = TRUE" and MQL Date with the date when the lead reached a score of 40.   Herein lies the challenge: we need to check the person's score before their submission of the content form so that we can ascertain if the lead had already been scored previous

Howdy!My company has recently detached our Marketo Instance from SFDC in order to clean up the sales pipeline, and along with that we lost some ability to see all SFDC Campaigns that a person was a part of. I was wondering if anyone had experience or a solution for tracking program membership on the personal level inside Marketo.I am trying to something similar to what the SFDC Campaigns field does: I've been trying to create a custom person object called "Program History" and I want to have it trigger off any time a person gets added to a new program.   If anyone has had success in something similar to this I would love to learn some tips on making a field like this work in only Marketo.   Thanks!

Hi,   Our annual conference is using Swoogo for registration this year.  We've added Swoogo as a LaunchPoint and are currently doing the field mapping within Swoogo. My question is how does this registration data actually make its way into Marketo? I can't select the event as an Event Partner.  If this can't be done, then how do registrants become members of my program? Not sure what my campaign trigger would be. Does anyone have insight into this?   Thanks, Erin

Is there a way to prevent numbers from being submitted in a text field on a Marketo form? I tried the masking feature but we need the number of characters to be flexible.  Thanks in advance for your input!

You've seen before that the Forms 2.0 input mask plugin can be tweaked to do some more elegant stuff. Here are a few more things you might want to do. I only recommend masks for things that have an explicit standard (like phone numbers, credit cards, etc.). But if you're going to use them for more than that, use them wisely! The code is bundled at the bottom of the post. SUPPRESS THE UNDERSCORE AS THE PLACEHOLDER By default, the mask shows a _ character in every empty position up to the max length. This can look ugly, especially if there's already a hint in the field telling people it's limited to N characters. You can remove the placeholder character entirely or replace it with something else (though I'm not sure anything is better than underscore or blank in this case, maybe a cursor block like ░ if you want to be retro-cool?). Hi team, hope you are doing well. I would like to know which may be the best way to identify which are the field updated more frequent on both a custom object and lead object. I assume that for Lead object it may be the original api activities (https://developers.marketo.com/rest-api/lead-database/activities/) using the data value changes. I've looked through a bunch of posts on here, but can't find one that's entirely relevant to my situation.   I'm trying to create an onSuccess script where the user will stay on the page if certain criteria is met and a second form will show, but if they don't meet the criteria, they will be redirected to a Thank You page (which is how the form functions today).   Setting 'return false' has no effect, and from researching in here, I believe it's our form event listener on GTM that is causing any custom onSuccess code to be overridden. The form will either redirect to the Thank You page that is set up on the Marketo side, or if I change that to 'stay on page', the page refreshes entirely instead of just hiding the form.   If I remove the event callback that is in the GTM code, everything works as it is supposed to, BUT it breaks our other forms on the website from submitting for some reason.   Is there anyway to override the GTM event callback?   Here is my form

I'm creating a Smart List for scoring purposes and I want to include titles with IT. Examples: Director of IT, IT Manager, IT Security, etc.  Since there are many title variations that will include "IT", I do not want to use an exact match. Is there a way to locate titles that include "IT" but also exclude words with "it" in them? Examples of words with "it" in them that we would want to exclude are architect, unit, critical, etc. There is a way to build a filter formula in SFDC that will include spaces - example: CONTAINS( LOWER( Title ) , " it")  -- Notice the space before the " it".  Is there a way to do something similar in Marketo?

I am not able to import email address to the user list for leads. Limited Access: You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this action. Before I was able to do  this but not today.

I just converted a lead to a contact in Salesforce, and then the record triggered a score update:This is despite having a criteria on our score triggers (which are global, not campaign specific) to exclude the "Lead merge" reason.Funny enough as I write this I've noticed that the Reason value in this latest "Merge" has a different string to the existing exclude criteria, although I was sure that the exclude string I had in place was the correct one to exclude Merges.Can anyone confirm that this new reason value "Merge (leaddb)" is the value for a conversion, rather than a merge?I feel we're deep in the Marketo dark arts here, so please shed some light!!Thanks to all in advance.Sean

We have many landing pages where we have some custom script added in the LP: Custom HTML Head Section.  Since we need to update these pages and the script would only be on selected LPs, not all,  looking at a way to do it via tokens.  Can script be added in a Marketo token like a text token then the token be added to the Custom HTML Head section of the LP? Are there limitations on lines of code in a Marketo token and what is the correct way to add it?   Thanks,
