Adobe Experience Manager Assets

Is there an OOTB way in AEM 6.2 to crop image renditions on upload similar to how Wordpress handles renditions?  Currently the workflow is just resizing the image.

Uploading an image from site admin vs dam admin does not have any differences. But is it recommended to upload images from siteadmin view? If not, why ?

Hi,When an asset is uploaded to DAM, workflow is getting triggered, inworkflow property is true even though there is no workflows for that asset in the Backend. This results assets are not be able to activated/published.Need to understand where this inworkflow is set to true and set to false, which cases it will be true for a long time.Have any one faced this issue and how can we resolve this? any suggestions?

If user click on AEM 6.3 Asset shared link's download link, it will by default download all the rendition of the image. I have a requirement where I want only original file to get downloaded and no rendition file. How can I achieve that ? Thanks in Advance.

Hi,I have a site: '/content/name/en/domain/home.html' and also have a custom login page '/content/name/login.html'. I need to change the default aem login page for this custom site to my custom login page. I am slightly confused how to do this. When a users tries to access home.html for the first time, I want them to login through my custom login.html page instead of this default page: '/libs/granite/core/content/login.html' Any help would be appreciated. Hi All,[AEM Version : 6.3, Oak : 1.6.1]I am aware that we can create workflow package of sites(pages) from Touch UI. (Select multiple pages -->Timeline -->Start Workflow -->Check 'Keep Workflow Package').However, the same is not applicable for DAM Assets. Each asset invokes a separate workflow instance. I have tried with Asset Collections, but the behavior is same.Creating workflow packages from Classic UI is still possible -- /miscadmin#/etc/workflow/packages --> Create new package --> add any type of resources --> start a workflow on this package.I wonder that since Adobe decided to deprecate Classic UI from next version onward, there must a way to create workflow package of Assets from Touch UI.Is there any configuration for this? We have a page with mutiple DM videos.  All are using the standard OOB video viewer preset.  It appears that the viewer is trying to preload the first several (20?) seconds of each video which is making the page weight excessive.  Is there a way to disable preload on the viewer? I was not able to find a setting nor any mention in help documentation.

Dear All:I have created a customized metadata schema form according to the document Metadata Schemas - docs.adobe.comAnd then I found the newly created form is stored in the folder /apps/dam/content/schemaeditors/forms along with the default form.Is it possible to move this customized form to somewhere under a specific project folder, like /apps/myproject/...?My AEM version is 6.1.Thank you!

If I load a PSD into Adobe Assets and attempt to manipulate the displayed layers, Adobe Assets fails to render the PSD entirely. Anybody have any solutions how this can be fixed?Thanks in advance for your help!

Can I create an metadata-only asset?  Basically an asset record with metadata, but no asset object exists yet. Then later we update that record/asset with the actual file.  The use case is I'd like to create asset records before that actual finished good asset is ready.  That way I have an AssetID of the asset before there is an asset. Another question, seems to be so obvious that I'm missing this, I hope its a simple issue. When creating a spin set, no matter what I do, no matter how I add the assets, or number the files, I always have to re-order them in the spin set wizard. Is there a way to have AEM recognize and use the numerical order of the files? I've tried to interpret how AEM is jumbling the images, but it seems very random. I have some spin sets that are 50+ images, and dragging those all back into order is a huge time suck! How can i get the spinset wizard to just list the file numerically? Thanks!Matt

Hi,I wondered if somebody can please help me or point me in the right direction.  Sorry, I have searched the forum, but maybe not using the correct term.  We are using the AEM DAM, and I would just like a report on how much space we are using and if possible how much space we have.I can get the report of assets to download, and I have looked at other topics, such as the Assets Sizing Guide, but I'm not really after a tool to estimate etc, I am just after a report on how much space we are using and how much space we have.Thank you for your help and sorry if this information is somewhere very obvious.

Has anyone been having issues with Excel documents in the DAM opening in IE 11? If you link to Excel DAM assets they won’t open if you select the “Open” option in IE. If you choose “Save” and then open the file it’s fine. If we move the Excel file into Eloqua’s document manager, it’s fine. PDF documents are also fine. Firefox and Chrome are also fine. It doesn’t matter if the link is in an email, on a published webpage, or if someone just pastes the URL directly into the browser.What our users are experiencing -- When you click the link for an Excel DAM asset in IE, you first get the dialog box to Open/Save/Save As. When you choose "Open", you get a blank browser window, a message displays that the file is being downloaded, and then when the message goes away you're still looking at a blank page. The file never opens.
