Workers receiving late proof email notifications after project has been 100% completed and closed

Hello all, hoping someone can help me please. 

 

The workers in my organisation are receiving late proof email notifications, after a job has been closed and completed. A decision has been made on the proof (approved) and all tasks have been 100%-ed. Is there a way to stop this? It's happened multiple times over the last few months.

Do you have these proofs as needing more than 1 decision required and therefore just if 1 person approves doesn't mean the proof overall is 'done.' A project's status unfortunately even if is Complete doesn't mean the proof automatically closes if any are still pending.
