I have created a project template and views/filters within that Template, however, when I “create project from template” and select the template I don’t see that filter/view pop up at the project level and have to create it again.
What is the purpose of creating Views/Filters within Template level if it cannot be defaulting in Projects?
Am I misunderstanding or misconfiguring this feature?
Would love some insight

Hello -
Since you created the views/filters within the Template, they are classified as Template/Template Task views/filters and not project views/filters. Unfortunately, you would need to recreate them within an open project, but once you create it you should be able to select it once you open up a project. And not sure if this is what you were trying to do...but you can not have a different view/filter per template/project type. Just a list of Project level filters/views you can select from.

Thanks for the insight!
and Project view would have to be selected each time from the list, correct? No way of selecting it by default based on Template selected? unless possibly with Fusion

Hi, if I am not mistaken, it should be possible to set a custom Project view that you created as a default project view from the setup area in layout templates under filters, views etc. You can also disable other views, filters and groupings that come by default from Workfront and keep the system clean
Hope it helps!
Cheers!

Yes, you can set the default view by selecting Lists (under Customize what the user sees) in Layout Templates.
Project Templates can customize projects with the correct tasks, custom forms, assignments, etc..., but they do not customize how the user sees that information. That is decided by their assigned Layout Template.
