Resourcing report by job role

I received a request for a report to show resources committed on all PMO projects by job role. I can’t figure out a way to do it effectively in WF but I started by creating a task report that pulls all tasks, job role assigned, start/end dates, and planned hours. Then I exported to Excel and made a pivot table. It kind of gets what I want, but I feel like I need an extra step in the data to get it to show hours by day or month, so that in the pivot table it shows me how many hours are “dedicated” across months (especially needed for the tasks that span several months - for example we have PMO monitor/control tasks that span the length of the project).

Has anyone had luck in creating this type of a report directly in Workfront? How about outside of WF in Excel? Any tips?

Thank you!

Olivia
