Pulling project custom form data to task custom form using calc expressions

Hi all, I may be doing this wrong... We've created a request queue for project requests. I was able to have that custom form data transfer from the issue (request) to the project conversion. However, I also need the info in the project custom form fields to transfer down to the task level custom form fields. I created a task level custom form with calculated fields using the {DE:Custom Field} expression, but no data is transferring. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! Alex Afriyie Questline, Inc.

I think it's important to remember that any custom field you create can be used on a form that attaches to a specific object . And you can create many different forms (you just created an issue and a project form using the same field, for example). with this in mind, if you're on a task custom form, but wanting to reference data from the project level, you have to preface your calculation that way (tell your calculation where to look or else it will look in the "default" i.e. closest place: the task). PS My teams who have been using this technique are finding that it's not always necessary to use the "de" part either. So sometimes you could start by trying Project.Custom Field, or {Project.Custom Field} if the first doesn't work. -skye

Hi Alex, Below is what we used to use.... Project.Exact Custom Field Name However, since the new releases, we now have the task level task custom form attached to our templates, so we ditched using the above, as we had no real calculations that we needed to carry over. Miranda Rais GVC
