Outline numbering for Task list in order to better manage tasks and sub-task levels

Is there any way to change the task numbering in the Tasks object so that the numbers show hierarchy?

Example (I just typed this up; maybe there is a mistake):

1.2

1.2.1

1.2.2

1.2.3

1.3

1.4

2

2.1

2.1.1

2.1.2

2.1.3

2.2

    WBS in a project is great, getting the indentation formatting without the horrible -- ----- ------- ---------- workaround on a report is difficult (or was for me) but it's possible!
