Mentions/Updates issue - cannot add a comment

Hi, when going to Mentions widget on Home to add a reply to a comment, after you place the text, the hit Reply, the button becomes gray and nothing happens further, the message isn't posted, the same when going to the Updates section ant trying to post a comment.

I was checking for any kind of access and it's the same error for everyone.

Any idea why this is not working ?

Same here!

Unable to add a comment directly using the Mentions Widget, but the Update section is working fine for me.

what about the Updates section ? it has the same behavior as the "Mentions".

What is the alternative we can give to users so they can comment on tasks ?

Hi Madalyn, the user is a Contributor with "view" access on the task, by clicking the object, this means clicking the task, would redirect the user to the task, where he cannot comment, so the only option to comment on a task would be through Mentions. Also going to "My Updates" I see this is using also "Mentions". Conclusion in this moment the user doesn't have any way to reply to the comments addressed to him.

Whatever access a user has on an object is applied anywhere, the access they on a task is the same in My Mentions or in the task itself. Interesting that they can't add updates on a task, users with View access usually can still make updates on a task they have access to. They just can't do things like make assignments, change assignments, log time, mark a task complete, etc.
