Is it possible to group and chart a Project report by data from the Task level using a collection?

I think I know the answer to this, but I thought I'd ask just to be sure.

So, the Tasks contain a custom field called 'Asset' that I have in a column using a collection. I'd like to be able to group by that field and create a chart showing a record count of each Asset response.

I know I can do this in a Task report, but the client would like to keep this all on a single project report.
