In-Line Editing on Project Reports

Hello, I'm running in to an issue where we can't in-line edit the cells in our project report. The custom field that we are trying to edit is in the project custom form - and I know that WorkFront only allows in-line editing on the main object. So if it is a Task report, you can only in-line edit task attributes and custom attributes. You can’t go up or down the hierarchy and edit non-task attributes. I'm wondering if I will need to edit the text mode on the report. Any help on this or clarification would be great! Thanks!

So you have a Project report, and you are trying to in-line edit a custom form on the Project Level? You should be able to do this. If you have Admin rights, you should try it and if you can do it, then it's probably an access level issue.

I am having this same problem. I have two fields that are both text fields on a project custom form. One allows in-line text editing on a project report, and the other field does not. could it have anything to do with if the custom field is "Paragraph" style or "Single-line" style?

I think I figured this out. If you a using a report, or a view within a report, where the vertical column has conditional formatting or some sort of calculation/formula embedded, it will not allow in-line text editing. I think***** this is the reason why. As soon as I removed conditional formatting from my view, it allowed me to start editing my column with in-line text editing. I had a field called "Resource" where I would type-in the name of the main graphic designer we predicted would work on the project (before the project started). I had conditional formatting set up so anything that was blank would automatically display the text "TBD". This conditional formatting setting prevented me from doing in-line text editing.
