I need to re-create a very detailed project status report in Workfront. Currently the status report is in an excel document. I'd like to upload all the status report information (columns and rows) into Workfront, so the entire team can go to one place to view and update it. Having the status report outside of Workfront makes our team look in two different places for statuses.
The project owner will manually update the status report several times a week. The fields within Workfront need to be editable.
I'd like to be able to import the excel spreadsheet into Workfront without having to manually create it. Basically, I need Workfront to act like an excel spreadsheet. How do I do this?

Sounds like you need to do a kickstart. More on that here. You will need to be sure the fields you want in your status report are mapped/exist in WF if you're trying to upload a bunch of project info for example. The article goes into detail.

Hi Madalyn,
Thanks for the feedback. I created a custom form with the fields I need pulled into the report. So I would upload the data as a report? This report will need to be editable and have the ability to manually add/delete numerous rows/columns as needed, like an excel sheet. Will this be possible?

Your report is just a collection of the data you want. A kickstart can help you populate data in WF in bulk (hopefully you won't continue to use excel and just enter data directly in WF moving forward). When you have the data populated - whether manually or via kickstart - you'd still need to create your report to collect and present that data how you like. If you want a grid/table looking report you'd just use the details view of the report. In terms of editing in-line, it depends what columns/data you pull in. If you have a task report across multiple projects, those with manage access to the tasks/projects can edit task-specific info. Same goes if you have a project report and editing project-specific info.

If I pull in all the custom data fields into the report and upload it, where is it uploading to? it's not clear in the instructions. do I need to create a specific portfolio, program? Please send me a link to a video tutorial on kickstarts so i can watch it. I don't like that I have to do all this training to understand how to upload data.
