Question

I can't figure out why rows in my report are colored!

Hi!

I inherited a project report that has certain rows colored red, yellow, and green I think based on either ship or due date. When I edit the report, there isn't any conditional formatting on those two columns. Any insight into where I am not looking?

Thank you in advance!

JM

Have you checked all the other columns?

Yes, I did. Unfortunately no conditional formatting has been applied.

so far, so good!

I'm also wondering if any of the columns are in text mode, and if so, do you know what the conditional formatting might look like, while in text mode.

Also just making sure, when you look at your report in details mode, are you accidentally applying a different View at that point (i.e. you're somehow on a view that isn't the report default view)

I so appreciate your time!

I have text mode for only Line of Business:

displayname=LOB
linkedname=project
namekey=view.relatedcolumn
namekeyargkey.0=project
namekeyargkey.1=portfolioID
querysort=project:portfolioID
valuefield=project:portfolio:name
valueformat=HTML

And Requestor or Opportunity Owner:

column.2.displayname=Requestor or Opportunity Owner (SF)
column.2.linkedname=project
column.2.namekey=view.relatedcolumn
column.2.namekeyargkey.0=project
column.2.namekeyargkey.1=convertedOpTaskOriginator:name
column.2.querysort=project:convertedOpTaskOriginator:name
column.2.sharecol=true
column.2.textmode=true
column.2.valuefield=project:convertedOpTaskOriginator:name
column.2.valueformat=HTML
column.3.linkedname=direct
column.3.namekey=Opportunity Owner Email
column.3.querysort=DE:BRC Opportunity Owner Email
column.3.textmode=true
column.3.valuefield=DE:BRC Opportunity Owner Email
column.3.valueformat=customDataLabelsAsString

 I didn't see any conditional formatting within.

I thought maybe it had to do with the view as well, but it's default for both filter and view. So stumped!

Are there rules on any of the other columns?

Just checking before I say something that might be wrong 🙂

No, I looked at every column under Advanced Options and didn't see any rules applied that would change the background colors.

Hi @jenniferma10, for what it's worth, I've had a ticket open for multiple weeks with conditional formatting applied to entire rows that won't disappear once deleted. I asked if they would add it to the Known Issues page, but evidently I'm the only one who's encountered this issue - it would be worth submitting a Support ticket as it sounds like you've gone through the appropriate investigations and you could be facing the same issue.

The plot thickens! Looking forward to hearing what support says about it.

Sure does! It started happening for me the moment the new conditional formatting colours/UI went live. It only seems to be an issue when "Apply to entire row" is selected. If you want to test in your instance, I recommend creating a brand new View. I myself am using the "contains" modifier; haven't tested with the others. Seems to be happening across multiple object types - I've tried on Template and Project views.
