Hi Community,

Please can someone point me to the right documentation or information on how to create Milestone in a project in Workfront?

Your input is super appreciated.

Thanks

Mesh.

First make sure you have a milestone path setup to use by going to Setup > Processes > Milestones Paths.

Once this is setup and applied to the group in which your project belongs, you can edit the task properties by going to edit > settings > Milestone and path ID.

I'd like to have a report that displays each of the milestones along with the dates the milestones are due for all of my projects. I am able to see this in my project report if I choose the Milestone view, which is perfect, but I would like to be able to sort by due dates or other columns or even pull into an excel document. Is there a way to do this?

@jackieco It won't be as pretty of a visual, but if did want to see Milestone Names/Due Tasks AND sort by those, I'd recommend creating a Task Report with the following:

  • Filtered by Task Milestone ID > Is Not Blank
  • For your View, if you delete all columns except for Task Name and Due Date (Planned Completion Date) and then add the column for Milestone Name, that is a great place to start. You'll be able to sort the Due Date column in Ascending or Descending Order.
  • Group the results by Project Name.

Again, it won't be as visually appealing, but it will give you the information you need for each project. And reports can be exported into Excel!
