How are you tracking hours spent before a project is started?

We have some long term initiatives that have no defined tasks or goals until the necessary pre-planning meetings and kick-offs have taken place.

What I'd like to happen is when the request is converted to a project, the hours move over to the project with it. It doesn't look like its possible however.

How are you tracking these not-yet-connected-to-a-project hours? We'd like to still be able to know overall how much time we've spent on the initiative as a whole.

Hi Christina -

I might suggest one of two things. If the Planning Hours are already logged against the issue, create a Planning task in the project and manually add the total hours from the issue. Or, you could just add the hours to the Project and indicate in the Notes field that the hours apply to the Planning effort.
