Financial Data access required to see Risks?

Avatar

We have users who are unable to see the Risks tab on projects. After some experimentation it seems that the Risks tab is tied to view access on Financial Data (which the access level for these users doesn't have).

Can this be right? If so, this makes no sense to me.

We definitely don't want these users (engineers) to be able to view financials, but they need to have access to Risks.

Is there a way around this?

It is true that Risks and Financial data are tied in Workfront. Risks will inherently affect the project's finances, so I see the correlation.

There is a workaround though. You could provide view access to the financial data which (according to documentation) would then allow access to view the finance in the project details area only and then hide it through a layout template.

Thanks. I don't love that solution since all our groups would need to change all their layout templates, but at least I know I'm not crazy.

Personally, I think the whole concept of Risks in Workfront needs a good overhaul. Starting with the ability to add custom data.
