Error uploading zipped files from Macs

Hi, there.  This is a sporadic issue at my company, but it's happening now....MAC users cannot upload zipped folders to a document folder in Workfront.  They're getting an error message which could be an internal problem (cannot send the message)...but wondered if anyone out there has the same issue or has a solve for this?  These are creative files and they are enormous. 🙂

Hi Tracy, 

 

Sorry that you're having this issue.

 

We have experience something similar when trying to upload large files (20 MB or greater, and is 20 really that big...?) What we learned is that AWS, the servers supporting WF, moved from doing a daily back up of the entire system at midnight (or some point when traffic is low) to an immediate back of larger file uploads almost as soon as those files are loaded to WF. Two issue were created by this in our workspace, 1) Internal we have a cap on file uploads and exchanges that cap at 20 MB which affects the pass through to the back up server. 2) AWS servers have rotating IP addresses which creates problems when trying to white list those IPs. Not sure if these issues are similar to what you are facing, but could be a place to start. 

 

We did find a couple work arounds. 1) On larger files we uploaded as proofs with no direct reviewer/approvers. This helped in some cases but not all. 2) We determined that any archived files (i.e. packaged final files) did not need to be in WF as these could be routed to our DAM as a repository. The only thing needed in WF was a Final Approved PDF, or link to Final Cut, or Final Approved Graphic in Workfront to be the necessary artifact for the project.
