Do external users migrate to Admin Console?

We are in the final prep stages of migrating to the Admin Console - it has been a mean feat of research to ensure we are doing the right thing. Still not surey, but I have got to the point of let's do it and see what happens.

However, we have some external users who are not in our company that have access to our Workfront environment - do I include those in the migration or will they remain using the original URL for access? We use SSO for our own users. I cannot seem to find anything to tell me about external users.

Also - all SSO users who are assigned to a user group in Workfront, will those user groups (and those in them) remain in tact after migration?

Thanks for reading

Hi @workfrontwhiff,

This story is at my expense, so pull up a chair, Schadenfreude fans...

By default, every active user email within Workfront will be converted to Adobe Admin Console...which in my case, unfortunately, included dozens of people who'd "popped in" over the years (Workfront support team members, former employees who'd not been deactivated, etc.)...and it was one of the latter who kindly brought it to my attention (and embarrassment). I quickly DELETED all those uses from Adobe Admin Console, used our Excel Updater to add _FakeAddress_ to every such email (thereby avoiding the auto alerts going anywhere...again...) and reran, quietly. In a more orderly fashion, I now gradually convert the handful of users who do in fact need access from _FakeAddress_ to their desired address...which in some cases, isn't what I'd had from back in the day, anyway.

Your mileage may vary. Good luck.

Regards,

Doug

Wait, auto alerts?

When we migrate, every user will get an email? Can we disable this?

What if the app uses auto-provisioning? Does that mean every user in the company gets an email?

External users are included in the migration. They can keep using their original URL whatever that is, because it will just redirect them to the adobe sign on page.

Here's a link to a section called "Identity Types on Adobe Admin Console"

https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/identity.html?x-product=Helpx%2F1.0.0&x-product-location=Search%3AForums%3Alink%2F3.6.2

Your company users will probably all come in with federated IDs, and the external users will probably come in as adobe IDs. If the external user's company already uses adobe admin console for something with their email address, then they'll come in with that ID.

If your users are currently in a workfront group of some sort, that doesn't change, as far as I know.

In theory every Workfront customer was assigned an engineer to make this happen, so I don't think you need to do anything additional?
