Deleting custom fields

I recently completed a POC in a new environment, and the forms used are no longer necessary. During the creation of these forms, numerous custom fields were added, which are also now redundant. While testing the best method to delete a custom field, I found that I couldn’t reuse the field name (not the label) when creating new fields. After thoroughly searching Experience League without finding a solution, I contacted support. They informed me that the field name does free up, but it takes approximately 24 to 48 hours.

I wasn’t sure where to share this, but I hope it helps someone avoid similar headaches.
