Closing Out Fiscal Year

I've queried Support about this, but figured the Community might have their own insights:

  • Do you have a process you'd be willing to share about closing out a fiscal year?

  • How do you handle projects that span more than one fiscal year?

  • Do you use billing records? (We do not and instead export everything for management offline, which leaves all everything "open.")

    Support was a bust; they've design a product but not considered how it would be used...no SoP, no "expected behavior," nothing.

    All I have is that Billing Records should be used, but not much beyond that. Problem is, because of how beyond-tedious Bill Records are, we skipped them in favor of export to an external system to handling billing and finances.

    Does anyone want to provide scenarios on how they do it? Especially from a Creative Agency (internal agency or stand-alone agency) point of view?
