Cannot mass update external lookup field

Hi All,

 

I created a scenario where I plan for our users to reference specific projects with external lookup. Now, before I release it to users I need to backdate approx. 3000 objects but found that the system doesn't let me to do it.

 

I use single select external lookup that filters projects by specific portfolio

 

While I can access everything in the system I received the below message.

 

Is the mass edit not possible on external lookup fields?

Hi @lukaszmatyszewski 

I can replicate that - apparently external lookups cannot be bulk-edited  😞 without Fusion.

I would raise a ticket for that.

    Curious, did this ever get a ticket and or response?

    I can see the value in adding something like a "Recalculated External Lookups" option on the object level. 

    I built a solution to stamp when a milestone ID completes in a way that will allow users at a project level to see a hierarchy of results, but it requires external lookup fields, which then require a user to go in any "click" each external lookup field to get it to run the 1st time and retrieve a result.
