Assigning task to user with more than one role

Hello,

We have some users that hold more than one role in WF. We have set to 80% role 1, and 20% role 2. Role 1 is a role set to bill at '0', and role 2 has a value for the hourly rate.

There are some scenarios where the user has been assigned to a task with the incorrect role. I'm going through to reassign to the correct role by;

  • un-assigning all users/roles from the task
  • assigning the correct role to the task
  • assigning the user to the task

I've done this multiple times with one user and it's worked, however trying now with some others but it's still giving the planned revenue as the 'hourly rate' role, rather than '0'. In the main edit task window under 'Assignments', the correct role is present, and that role has a '0' hourly rate, but it's still giving a planned revenue for the task.

Any ideas what I might be missing?

Thank you

Lana

Hi @Lana,

If I'm following correctly, I am also surprised that what you're doing is not yielding consistent (zero dollar) planned revenue. It might be worth trying to Recalculate Finances, but if that does not correct the problem, I'd suggest you raise a helpdesk ticket.

Thanks Doug - I was stung last week when I 'Recalculated Timelines' in a project, and so feel very cautious about 'Recalculating Finances' within a project, but will do some testing on how this works, as it could possibly work. I have since raised a ticket to see if I can get some more guidance for a better understanding on the logic of how this works.

Thank you
