Seriously?

Someone reaches out to me via DM and I can't respond a second time?!

Please fix this Adobe. a reply to a DM I receive shouldn't be blocked for any reason.

Hi @Sven-atClient

We have set flood controls to mitigate private message spam. Please see the below restrictions for details:

  • 2 private messages per 30 secs
  • 10 private messages per 10mins
  • 30 private messages per 60mins

I believe this applies to any type of private message - both as a recipient or sender. If you feel like the frequency of your private message replies are not hitting the above restriction, please let me know I will investigate further. Thank you.

I think you should submit a support ticket for this one. I've never had that happen and I'm often bombarded with messages and replies. I'd be very surprised if this was by design.

I've heard from one or maybe two other users about getting locked out and am gathering this is just what happens when you get too many DMs going? Maybe @jon_chen  can shed light on this.

Ah! I misunderstood the OP. I thought this was in Workfront, not AEL, Doh!

Still, I've never heard of this happening and would be surprised if this was by design… unless of course we're talking hundreds of messages.

Must be related to my level; i was L2, got a DM, responded, got another - and could not respond.

I get that they want to limit DMs but REPLIES shouldn't be - I mean, someone is asking me something

Hi @RandyRoberts and @Sven-atClient (and @Sven-iX),

I've received a similar warning before, which I assume is intended to avoid bot / spamming within AEL, so waited until the next day to reply (which then worked as expected).

Doug

Hi @Sven-iX Thanks for your response. Not sure if your response was cut off but I want to clarify that the 30-second limit I referenced above is the frequency you need to be sending or receiving messages to trigger the block. I'm not sure how long the block duration is itself - let me confirm on this and update you shortly.

Hi @jon_chen

just noticed that - what i MEANT to say was it was in a 10min timeframe: First DM sent; a few minutes later i got a reply. Composed another response - and got the block.

So it was *on the second response* that i got the block.
