Accounting for time that a resource is not available, but not out of office

What is the best way to account for department and corporate events in project timelines?  I am tempted to have everyone in the department enter "time off" for the two day department events that occur one time per quarter but wanted to check to see if anyone has a better idea.  It know it will work, but don't want to pass up an option I am not aware of.

what would you think about adding it to the schedule as a "holiday"?

Considered that but it does not impact all departments just 2, which is a subset of the project team.

oh bummer... yeah OOO would be your next best option. If you had fusion or if you wanted to do it via an API call, you could implant it for the whole dept, but failing that, everyone would have to manually enter.
