Updates: Unable to distinguish Users with the Same Name (@Anh...)

We have roughly 7,500+ users on Workfront globally.

In a small number of cases, where a user shares the same first name and last name, we are unable to distinguish which user is which when "@" tagging them into an update or other.

It would be great if Workfront could either add an additional data point when tagging users in updates or add the user profile hover-over functionality to the draft update module to help determine if you are reaching the right person.

Example below:

Any questions, do let me know.

Best regards,

Christian

We spoke with our customer success manager this past week about this same issue. We have 80,000 users in our system being that we are a large institution and needed to front load users to make them available to our admin assistants that enter requests on behalf of doctors and high-level administrators. Deleting some users is not an option since this just complicates the situation by making it appear that the one or two people left would be the person they need when in reality it wouldn't be correct. We have some users with 10-15 of the exact same name and no way to discern between them. I just spent over an hour today between 15 requests/projects helping users try to decipher which ones were the correct user to enter as the primary contact, project sponsor, or when tagging in updates. This issue would be easily solved by a hover over that displays user information that is already in the database but simply does not display. This functionality does exist in the tool in other locations such as when using the advanced search on users. The pop up provides enough detail including email, job title, and one other unique identifier. We are desperate and struggling to find a solution to manage this issue. We have only been in Workfront for 2 months and we anticipate this need will grow. Without a solution we have had some teams not be able to enter work without a system administrator assistance which is not productive.

I would like to second this notion and upvote this idea in priority. We have a number of users in our system with the exact same name, and it is impossible to distinguish who is who when using the search function, assigning Project Sponsors, Resource Managers, changing Assigned To users, etc. It would be great to see additional information from the users profile such as email address or job title to help choose the correct one. As is we are seeing the wrong users getting assigned and notified on objects they should not be involved with, and it is delaying work with the correct users.
