Set the default Task Constraint at a global and Group Level (for example: Fixed Dates)

Currently, an Admin can implement a default task constraint using two variables:

  1. Set the Start date settings in task & Issue preferences
  2. Schedule from in the project settings.

This allows a user to set a default task constraint to:

  • As soon as possible
  • Start no earlier than
  • As late as possible
  • Start no later than

We have a requirement to set the task constraint to "Fixed Dates" as the default.

We would like a way to implement this at a global and group level.

Ideally, rather than a matrix of complex variables, a simple drop-down with the 11 constraint options would be perfect.

Yes!  However, I would actually like the option of setting tasks to default to fixed dates at project level. In certain projects, it is annoying to have to set that manually every time I add a task and need a specific start and end date (OR fill in a duration to account for the time between the start and end dates).
