We're not able to use the new Resource Planning tool in an efficient way because of how you first need to set project planned hours as budgeted and then set users planned hours as budgeted. For our organization, it doesn't make sense to not have the two be equal in the beginning of a project set up. If we have to change the budgeted hours, we could do so after. But, it's pretty rare that planned and budgeted aren't equal.
I'd like to see the option at a system level to be able to turn on/off setting the budgeted to the planned hours so that it doesn't need to be a manual process each time a project/resource manager sets up their projects. I believe this will also eliminate "human error." For example, I like to look at resource availability on a weekly basis to see where someone might be overallocated, but if a project manager didn't set their planned to budget on a couple projects, then I may not see an accurate picture.
