Omit Values using sharecol=true

If I use sharecol=true merging a calculated field and a free text field is there a way to eliminate one of the responses the merged field will give if it is duplicated?

Here is an example:

Division Field (cal) sharecol=true Client Name Field (text)

Recreation Recreation

Result = Recreation Recreation

Is there a way for it to show the most recently updated field or remove the duplication?
