Notification When Resource is Scheduled for Time Off

When assigning tasks to someone who is scheduled for time off it would be helpful to get a pop-up notification either at the top or similar to the notification when assigning a task to a Reviewer letting the Project Manager know that the person will be out of the office.

Currently it automatically adjusts the dates, which is great, but it would be really helpful to get a notification as well so you don’t go crazy trying to figure out why the dates aren’t calculating correctly.

Hi Kellly - the issue regarding time off being entered for one resource is interesting. Best if you log that with support to get them to fix that. Cheers

Thanks, David - I think we have that logged with them, I'll have to double check. Just wanted to point it out here because you really have to be "looking" for it and have the right conditions to catch it. :)

Thank you for this idea, We would love to invest in building this notification but due to other priorities we won’t be able to work on this during upcoming 12 months. Great idea!! I definitely would love this for the same reasons as everyone mentioned above and also the reason we don't use the PTO calendar. I'd love to get the notification that someone has PTO as an alert so I can have the option of assigning someone else when I'm setting up the project vs. it moving out all my dates automatically. Please reconsider adding in this functionality in the future!

This is a great idea. We have recently had a project manager approach us for something similar to this. They would like a notification when they are tagging someone in a comment to say that they are not in the office today.

Unfortunately we don't use the PTO function as this changes timelines. Instead we have a request queue where someone will enter there days off into here and the studio team who do the assigning of tasks will see this request in the scheduling tool and know not to assign any work to them today.

I'm excited to announce that we are close to getting this feature out to you! Coming to Preview on Thursday, May 30th and Production on Thursday, June 13th, users will see a new tool tip style warning when they are scheduling users to do a task/issue while that assignee has time off scheduled.
