Notification when Assignee Schedules Time Off

When a project is current and a team member assigned to a task and updates their time off calendar, project timelines get updated with no notifications sent to the project owner. Can you provide the possible solutions.

  1. Build in functionality to notify the project owner the the project time line has been updated. Indicated which task have been updated.

Workfront Edit: This idea originally asked for 2 features. The other was a request to build a setting to stop the automatic rescheduling of work based on time off. That Idea is available here: https://experience.workfront.com/s/idea/0870z000000PSNiAAO/detail

This was an idea on the previous support page. My link to it has since been disabled and I cannot find the original post on the new page. I will ask my rep if they can locate it as it was already above the threshold to be under consideration.

Well, the idea I was referring to was a little different, but same concept really. I'll see if I can get them linked.

make the notification/alert indicate if time off or (if dates end up being fixed) the assignment would result in over allocation of the worker.

this is a great new feature coming on the 13th, but not quite the same as what you are looking for.

Thank you for submitting this request, up voting for it and sharing your use cases. We fully understand the need behind this functionality but we won't be able to invest in it during upcoming 12 months. So, I will be marking this as Not Planned for now, but please continue sharing your use cases since we may revisit the decision at some point in the future.

Why would you shelve this? The feature to disable the moving of dates does not help those of us that WANT the dates to move (because that's reality). This would help us know why a date moved and would maintain the integrity of our project plans at the same time.

Thank you for the submission! We think this is a good enhancement to the Workfront platform overall and this product area in particular!

Workfront currently prioritizes large-scale, foundational enhancements such as the new Reporting experience and changes to the core data model, so this item does not fit in our near-term roadmap. As such, I am marking this as Declined now, but we'll keep this in our backlog for the improvements for this area so that we can revisit the decision in the future.
