Notification when a task is ready to work on

Description - Send a notification when a task has moved to "ready to work on" status

Why is this feature important to you - I do not see my new tasks unless I physically refresh my home page. This is annoying, because I can sometimes go hours without doing so and miss tasks that have tight deadlines.

How would you like the feature to work - A task moves to my "ready to work on" bucket, and I get a notification: "[Task] is now ready to work on."

Current Behaviour - Tasks move to my "ready to work on" bucket, and I do not get a notification. I am not aware of new tasks unless I physically refresh the home page.

Hi, I’d take a look at your notifications you have/don’t have enabled. There are notifications for when a new task or issue is assigned to you and when the predecessors for them have been completed (therefore letting you know yours can begin).

Sounds like you might be missing a combination of possible alerts -

'All predecessor task completion to task dependents' will get you 80% of what you're looking for, but does depend on the task HAVING a predecessor which as @AndrilitaRo1 points out, doesn't occur for the first task in a project. It can also behave oddly if you have a project with missing predecessors on tasks further in the timeline, and it won't capture if the 'Assignee' is a Team that you're a member of rather than you being assigned as an individual.

To capture the first task in a Project, you could enable the 'A Project I'm on becomes active' notification. It's not precisely what you're looking for, but it would be a clue to look at the project and see if you're up first, or if you have tasks further down the timeline where someone has forgotten a predecessor link.

To capture the scenario where you are a member of a Team that's assigned, you'd want 'All predecessor task completion to dependents on assigned team' enabled. Depending on your admin, that one you may have to ask them to enable for you, I know it was off for a long time in my instance.
