Modify Project Tasks In "What If" or Before Saving

As a project manager, I may need to add, delete, or modify tasks in a "what if" scenario. For instance, I may want to see how changes affect my project without actually committing them to production and having all task owners notified or, if someone runs a report, see that I've made changes

Scenario planning is the number one ask by my PMO.

Would love this.

Big problem today. I will try changes in the Sandbox, but you can't transfer the changes to the live version and the snapshot is only once a week so I lose any updates between the snapshot and the day I do the modeling.

Another way to do this could be some version of Save As. Copying all the tasks of a project to a new project is painful when the project is large and complicated.

This would be wonderful!

Hi All,

The functionality you are requesting is currently available in preview through Gantt Chart edit mode. You are able to make changes on the task list, undo/redo them before saving. We are planning to bring it out to the task list directly but for now you can test the functionality through the above mentioned edit mode. Please feel free to provide your feedback directly to me to annaasatryan@workfront.com .

Thank you in advance.
